About
Kunstlinie Almere Flevoland is the cultural heart of Almere and a leading venue for performing and visual arts. Located on the Esplanade by the Weerwater in the city centre, the building combines striking, transparent architecture, designed by Japanese architects Kazuyo Sejima & Ryue Nishizawa (SANAA), with a dynamic programme of performances, exhibitions, and cultural events.
As an arts and culture centre, Kunstlinie offers three theatre halls, an art gallery, and various public spaces where art and audiences come together in a diverse experience of theatre, music, dance, cabaret, and contemporary visual arts. Around 200,000 visitors come to this venue each year, drawn by its invitation to reflection, dialogue, and inspiration.
For artists, Kunstlinie offers more than just a physical location, it provides a conceptual framework: a space where art acquires social relevance and narratives of identity are given a platform. The exhibition spaces within this cultural hub enhance the visibility of diverse voices and encourage visitors to discover connection and understanding in an open, inclusive environment.
