About
Kunstlinie Almere Flevoland is the cultural heart of Almere and a leading venue for performing and visual arts. Located on the Esplanade by the Weerwater in the city centre, the building combines striking, transparent architecture, designed by Japanese architects Kazuyo Sejima & Ryue Nishizawa (SANAA), with a dynamic programme of performances, exhibitions, and cultural events.
Kunstlinie, as a centre for the arts and culture, provides three theatre halls, an art gallery, and various public areas where art and visitors converge for a varied experience of theatre, music, dance, cabaret, and contemporary visual arts. Approximately 200,000 patrons attend this venue annually, attracted by its invitation to contemplation, discussion, and inspiration.
For artists, Kunstlinie provides not only a physical space but also a conceptual framework: a place where art gains social relevance and stories of identity are given a platform. The exhibition spaces within this cultural hub amplify the visibility of diverse voices and invite visitors to experience connection and understanding in an open, inclusive setting.
